Terms of Service
General website and service terms for PPS Language Services
Effective date: 6 July 2026. Project quotations and written agreements may contain additional or different terms.
1. Scope
These terms govern use of the website and general enquiries for editing, proofreading, language, and related services. A project only begins after PPS accepts the scope, price, schedule, and other required terms.
2. Quotations and acceptance
Quotations are based on the information and files supplied. Material changes to length, condition, format, requirements, or deadline may require a revised quotation. Acceptance must follow the method stated in the quotation.
3. Client materials and instructions
The client must provide complete, lawful, and accurate materials and instructions, hold the necessary rights to share them, and disclose relevant restrictions. Delays or omissions may affect the schedule and outcome.
4. Nature of editorial services
Editing is a professional language service based on judgement. It does not guarantee publication, approval, legal compliance, factual accuracy, academic results, commercial outcomes, regulatory acceptance, or error-free source material.
5. Author and client responsibility
The author or client remains responsible for the final content, facts, data, citations, permissions, ethical compliance, technical decisions, and acceptance or rejection of editorial changes.
6. Delivery and review
Delivery is made through the agreed method. The client should review the files promptly and report genuine delivery issues or questions within the period stated in the quotation.
7. Fees, payment, and cancellation
Fees, taxes, payment timing, deposits, refunds, cancellation consequences, and late changes are governed by the quotation or project agreement. Work may be paused where required payment or information is outstanding.
8. Confidentiality and data
Information is handled according to the published privacy and confidentiality information and any written project-specific agreement accepted by authorised parties.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, liability arising from a project is limited to the fees paid for the affected service. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or business-interruption losses, or for decisions made using the edited material, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
10. Governing terms and contact
The contracting entity and any governing-law or dispute provisions are stated in the quotation, invoice, or project agreement. Questions about these terms may be sent to pps@ppslanguage.com.
